A huge thank you to Benalla P-12 College for hosting the Tradies Toolbox Roadshow as we continue taking our trades, industry partners and education and training supporters on the road across our region.

The frosty morning was warmed up with bacon and egg rolls cooked by the Benalla Lions Club, proudly provided by our sponsors Glenrowan Solar Farm and GOTAFE. With full bellies, students from Years 10–12 were ready to get the conversations flowing!

From auto and diesel mechanics, tree services, electrical, farming and agriculture and more, our visiting tradespeople gave students a real insight into what day-to-day working life looks like, the skills and opportunities available, and the many career pathways young people can take as they transition from school into work.

And it’s not just about inspiring the next generation – our local businesses are also meeting the students who could become their apprentices of the future.

A big shout-out to Master Builders Victoria, who joined us to talk trade and construction pathways and once again ran the very popular Work Boot Giveaway, with six lucky students receiving a pair of steel-cap boots to wear for work experience and, hopefully, into their future careers. 👢

We also thank Tomorrow Today Foundation, supporting positive community connections across Benalla, and AGA Into Work, who were on hand to talk students through School-Based Apprenticeship and Traineeship pathways and the journey into full-time employment after school and GOTAFE informing students of the qualifications and training options right here on their doorstep.

The Tradies Toolbox Roadshow is all about making connections, starting conversations early and showing young people the possibilities that are right here in our region.
