kick start your career with job skills, knowledge and work experience
Discover Work Experience and SWL placements on the Statewide School to Work Portal — an easy way for students, parents and teachers to connect with industry opportunities.
Work Experience (WEx)
Work Experience is often a student’s first step into industry, providing valuable insight and skills that can lead to more advanced placements.
Structured Workplace Learning (SWL)
SWL provides practical on-the-job training for VCE, VCE Vocational Major, and VPC students to build work skills and understand employer expectations
School Based Apprenticeships and Traineeships (SBATs)
SBATs give Year 10–12 students paid training that builds in-demand skills, contributes to their VCE, VM or VPC, and leads to a qualification.
School Community Work (SCW)
SCW benefits students and communities. Though unpaid, it helps students connect with and understand their community.
