Building Confidence for the Future Through Interview 2 Impress

NE Tracks LLEN recently travelled to Melbourne with students from Benalla P-12 College to participate in the 2026 Interview 2 Impress program, delivered by the ABCN Foundation in partnership with Accenture.

Designed to help young people prepare for the transition from education to employment, the program provided students with a valuable opportunity to develop the skills, confidence and knowledge needed to navigate future job interviews and workplace interactions.

Throughout the day, students worked alongside industry professionals from Accenture who generously shared their career journeys, workplace experiences and practical advice. The mentors offered valuable insights into what employers look for in potential candidates and provided students with a firsthand understanding of professional expectations in today's workforce.

The program was highly interactive, encouraging students to actively participate in discussions, activities and exercises focused on interview preparation and personal presentation. Students explored key topics including effective communication, body language, professional behaviour and strategies for answering common interview questions. They also learned how to identify and communicate their strengths, experiences and achievements in a way that demonstrates their value to potential employers.

One of the most engaging aspects of the program was the opportunity for students to take part in mock interviews with Accenture mentors. These simulated interviews allowed students to put their newly acquired skills into practice in a supportive environment while receiving constructive feedback from experienced professionals. For many students, this was their first experience participating in a formal interview setting, making the opportunity both challenging and rewarding.

The mock interviews not only helped students build confidence but also highlighted the importance of preparation, self-awareness and effective communication when applying for employment opportunities. Through personalised feedback, students gained a clearer understanding of areas they can continue to develop as they prepare for future career pathways.

Programs such as Interview 2 Impress play an important role in connecting young people with industry and helping them develop the employability skills that will support their future success. By engaging directly with professionals, students gain practical knowledge that complements their classroom learning and provides valuable insight into the world of work.

NE Tracks LLEN would like to thank the ABCN Foundation and the Accenture team for facilitating the Interview 2 Impress program. Their support and expertise helped create a meaningful learning experience that gave students practical tools and greater confidence as they prepare for future employment opportunities.

We are proud to support opportunities that empower young people to build confidence, develop workplace-ready skills and explore the possibilities available to them beyond school. Interview 2 Impress was a fantastic example of industry and education working together to create meaningful outcomes for students, and we look forward to seeing how participants apply what they learned as they continue their career journeys.
